Nancy King – Health & Wellness Coach, Nutrition & Weight Management Counselor, Personal Trainer
As a 25 year veteran in the Health and Fitness industry, and a Certified Health and Wellness Coach, Nancy applies evidence based information and coaching competencies to help people make lasting improvements in their health and well-being.
After graduating from Boston College with a BA in Economics, Nancy worked for an international computer company for over a decade, developing her communications and interpersonal skills in various marketing and management positions. Following the birth of her two children, Nancy pursued an educational curriculum that ultimately led to a new career in the Health and Fitness field. In 1998, Nancy established CustomFIT, a personal training company that delivers custom wellness, health and fitness programs to individuals and groups in South Eastern Massachusetts and the greater Boston area.
Nancy’s career has evolved over the years, expanding in scope to best meet the needs of her clientele. Initially certified as a Personal Trainer with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), Nancy went on to pursue a certification in Nutrition Counseling from the American Fitness Professionals Association (AFPA) and holds numerous certifications in Weight Management Counseling, Sports Nutrition and specialty wellness programming such as Flexibility Training, Breath As Medicine and Mindfulness/Stress Management.
Understanding that information and skill alone do not create lasting change, Nancy pursued a certification as a Health and Wellness Coach from Wellcoaches School of Coaching. Applying the principles of goal setting theory and positive psychology, Nancy helps her clients adapt to setbacks, to change and to thrive.
Nancy specializes in helping people develop practical solutions to address their wellness, weight management and fitness issues. She has extensive experience working with diverse populations, including working professionals, athletes, seniors, and rehab patients. Nancy draws form both her professional and personal experience to assist individuals facing life altering events such as divorce, new babies or the loss of a loved one.
As an empathetic listener and enthusiastic teacher, Nancy invites conversation and inquiry and hopes to inspire her clients to create lifetime practices for healthy living.
Nancy resides in Canton, MA and enjoys cycling, hiking, cooking and taking long walks with her dog Maya.
